ADVANTAGES OF CT SCANS

These 3D images allow for more precise implant placement and reduce recovery time. Some patients come to All Star Implants after their previous dentist told them they weren’t a candidate for implants, solely because of information seen on traditional X-rays. By utilizing such high-resolution images, we are able to precisely pinpoint areas of maximum bone density, which makes your more predictable, accurate, and efficient to perform.

OUR TECHNOLOGY LET'S US PLAN FOR EVERY MOMENT

Taking an X-ray was once the best way for Our Doctors to see your teeth and the oral anatomy around them. X-rays evolved over time into high-resolution images that required less radiation and provided more efficient care.
Traditional X-rays, however, only provide a two-dimensional view of your teeth, bone, and other oral anatomy. While we still use them today for routine checkups, there are now better options when it comes to oral surgery or full mouth reconstruction planning. Today, we have 3D cone beam (CT) scanners. With three-dimensional imaging technology with CT equipment, we can:
  • Evaluate oral anatomy that is not visible during an examination or on two-dimensional X-rays.
  • Get a 360-degree view of your teeth and jaws for better diagnostics.
  • Improve the planning of oral surgery procedures like wisdom tooth removal and dental implant placement.
  • Increase access to oral health care for non-traditional implant patients.

HOW DO CT SCANS WORK?

The thought of getting implants may sound intimidating, but getting All-On-4 dental implants is quite straightforward. First, Our Doctors will study your mouth with x-rays and 3D scans to create your new set of teeth.
Next, he will place the dental implants into your jawbone through a minimally-invasive surgery. After this visit, you just have to wait a few months for the implants to integrate and bond with your bone. Once that happens, Our Doctors will meet with you to attach your new permanent restoration to your implants! And don’t worry, we can fit you with an interim appliance to wear in the meantime.

DO I NEED A CT SCAN?

When considering a treatment such as dental implants, we usually recommend a CT scan. The cone beam scanner imaging allows us to create a 3-D image of your bone, jaw, and facial features. This allows us to plan precise treatment that maximizes your natural bone structure without the need for additional treatments.
