Restore Your Bone Tissue And Prepare For Replacement With All Star Implants

When you lose a tooth, the supporting bone tissue in the area begins to shrink, or resorb. This can cause changes in the positioning and alignment of your remaining teeth and makes it more difficulty to successfully place a dental implant. In addition to this, a sinus lift may be necessary if the loss of your tooth or periodontal disease has caused your supporting bone structure to deteriorate.

During your initial consultation, Dr. Hamid Rouhani can check the supporting jawbone to determine if there is enough bone tissue to support an implant. If there is not, he may recommend a bone grafting procedure to replace the missing bone tissue and ensure a stable foundation for your implant. If the implant is needed in your upper jaw, a sinus lift may also be a recommended procedure.

When Would I Need A Sinus Augmentation?

Sinus lifts, also known as sinus augmentations, are a type of bone grafting procedure designed specifically for the upper jaw, and work to restore bone density in the area of the molars and premolars so that your implant can be successfully placed and stabilized in your mouth.

During your sinus lift procedure, Dr. Hamid Rouhani will carefully lift the sinus membrane in the area above your upper jawbone and to the side of your nose. Our dentist will then add bone grafting material to the area of the maxillary sinuses in order to enhance the bone structure in the area.

Sinus lifts usually require a healing period of four to nine months to ensure that the grafted material can bone properly with your natural bone structure. Following this healing period, our dentist will place your dental implant.
